Using this website

The content on https://handydaddy.co is provided for general information. The how-to guides describe common practice and are written carefully, but every property is different and we cannot see yours. Following a guide is your decision and at your own risk. Nothing here is a substitute for a qualified professional inspecting the actual job.

Licensed trades

Florida treats several trades as licensed work. Handy Daddy does not perform new electrical circuits or panel work, re-piping, water heater installation, gas work, HVAC system work, roofing, structural alterations, tile set in mortar, or mold remediation, and does not hold a contractor's license. Where a job requires a licensed trade, we will say so and decline the work.

Quotes and pricing

Quotes are free and given in good faith based on the information and photographs you provide. If conditions on site differ materially from what was described — hidden damage, a wall type that changes the method, seized valves, access problems — we will stop, explain the difference and agree a revised price with you before continuing. Rates start at from $70/hour with a one-hour minimum unless a flat quote has been agreed.

Scheduling and cancellation

Please give as much notice as you reasonably can if you need to cancel or reschedule. If we need to change an appointment you will get a call, not silence.

Materials and parts

Unless agreed otherwise, you supply the fixtures, mounts, hardware and furniture. Where we source materials on your behalf they are charged at cost plus the time to collect them. Manufacturer warranties on parts sit with the manufacturer.

Access and site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe access to the work area, for obtaining any permission your homeowners association, condominium association or landlord requires, and for telling us about anything hidden in a wall, floor or ceiling that you know about. In post-tensioned concrete buildings, no drilling into structural slabs or walls will be carried out without the association's documentation and, where appropriate, a scan by a qualified firm.

Our work

Work is carried out with reasonable skill and care. If something we installed is not right, tell us and we will come back and put it right. This does not cover failure of parts you supplied, normal wear, damage caused by others, or issues arising from a pre-existing condition we flagged at the time.

Payment

Payment is due on completion unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash, card, Zelle and Venmo.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, our liability arising from the services is limited to the amount paid for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
