Appliance Install

Appliance Installation & Hookup

Delivery drivers drop appliances at the door. Getting the old one out, the new one in, leveled, connected and actually working is a separate job — and it’s the one people discover they need at 4pm on a Saturday.

I install over-range microwaves, dishwashers, ranges, washers, dryers and refrigerators with water lines, and I take the old unit away.

What's included

  • Old appliance disconnected, removed and hauled away
  • New unit positioned, leveled and secured (anti-tip bracket on ranges)
  • Water supply, drain and vent connections made and leak-tested
  • Over-range microwaves mounted to cabinet and wall, vented correctly
  • Refrigerator water lines run and ice makers connected
  • Full function test before I leave

Anti-tip brackets on ranges

Every free-standing range ships with an anti-tip bracket, and a startling number are never installed. Without it, standing on an open oven door can tip the whole appliance forward. It takes five minutes and it’s the first thing I fit.

Over-range microwave venting

These come configured for recirculating, and if your kitchen actually vents outside — through the wall or the roof — the internal blower has to be rotated and the damper set. Installed wrong, it blows cooking steam back into the room through the filter. Worth getting right.

Dryer vents matter more than people think

A restricted or lint-packed dryer vent is a genuine fire risk and the number one cause of a dryer that takes three cycles to dry a load. Rigid or semi-rigid metal duct, kept as short and straight as possible, no plastic or foil flex. If yours is a compressed foil accordion behind the machine, that’s worth fixing while I’m there.

What this costs

A straightforward swap is typically an hour or two. Gas appliances are excluded — those need a licensed gas fitter.

Appliance Install — common questions

Do you connect gas appliances?

No. Gas lines are licensed work and I won’t touch them. Electric and water connections, yes.

Can you install a dishwasher where there has never been one?

That means new supply, new drain and usually a new circuit — licensed plumbing and electrical. Replacing an existing one is straightforward and that I do.

Will you take the old appliance away?

Yes, that’s included on request.
